Industrial Operation and Maintenance folks…

Are your CMMS or Data management systems fully functional and user-friendly in all respects? How complete and interactive are the illustrations like P&ID, PFD and Equipment drawings within such systems or are they just scanned images?

Moreover those system implementers left yesterday/year with sample data, asking you to update/upgrade and house-in such illustrations on future days. That future day would never come, because your primary jobs are to operate and maintain. You hardly find time to complete this satisfactorily. Compounded to the inadequacies and incompleteness of the exercise is the fact that your physical drawings are gradually getting deteriorated and lost.

Who can do such huge 'techno-labor' work for you?

We can handle these jobs for you. A dedicated team headed by an engineer with over 30 years of experience in different industries worldwide, is at your exclusive service, to see the job to a highly effective and user-friendly completion.

To take care of the drawbacks of the present practice, we can rework your scanned drawings.

What is wrong with scanned drawings?

Most of them are soiled and simply scanning and dumping them into the system might give very poor understanding.

All scanned drawings together could occupy huge file size.

Taking 'print-outs' of such scanned images doesn't give a clear output.

Enlarged views (zooming in) of scanned images give very poor resolution.

They can never be made interactive by easy means.

How we can add value to these scanned images?

The immediate solution that strikes is to rework the drawings using CAD to give clear outputs. However CAD greatly falls short of the requirement in that, CAD requires dimensions. But who could give the dimensions of hundreds of equipment with thousands of components? In fact, unlike design requirements, for operation and maintenance you don't require CAD drawings. And for any CAD drawings, which might exist (for new equipments), there are very less interactive user-friendly features.

So our approach involves, reworking the scanned images/CAD drawings and converting them to vector images (meaning small file sized, crisp colorful images, which can be exploded or even animated if required!).

Our integrated tool to view these vectorized drawings gives a host of interactive features.

The drawings can be printed without any loss of clarity. Moreover they can be seen at enlarged views (zoomed-in), without any loss of resolution.

Interactive hyper links can be added, which are directly referenced from the drawing or components therein, such as CMMS part numbers, part register, operation/maintenance -instructions/procedures, field sketches and any inclusions desirable by you. Moreover required details can be populated and printed for requirements like raising an indent, etc.

The database can be updated at the user end.

All the features associated with these vectorized drawings can be availed with ease from any system in the Intranet.

ADVANTAGES OF OUR APPROACH - HIGHLIGHTS

Interactive/Structured Equipment/Drawing listing.

The vectorized drawings can be viewed with great clarity from any system in the Intranet.

As shown in the comparison, the vector images gives a much clearer view than the scanned images.

An associated benefit is the huge reduction in file sizes
.

Unlike scanned drawings, the vectorized drawings enables 'print-outs' with no loss of clarity. The images can be seen in enlarged views (zoomed-in) with no loss of resolution.

YOU CAN TRY THE PRINT, ZOOM-IN & ZOOM-OUT FEATURE in the above illustration!

Interactive hyperlinks at the component level can be referenced to details like CMMS part numbers, part register,operation/maintenance-instructions/procedures, field sketches and any inclusions desirable by you.

Details like the CMMS part number and part register can be populated and printed for requirements like raising an indent, etc.

TEST THIS APPROACH FOR FREE!

If you want to test this approach, on your own drawing, with your desired exclusive interactivities…mail us the scanned image of your drawing as an attachment. Indicate (or we put in some sample hyperlinks) what kind of interactive hyperlink you prefer to have (like part number, description, operational instruction, maintenance notes or any thing you think could be important for your user to view, refresh or print-out).

We shall freely process your sample-scanned drawing and send it across with a demo version of the integrated tool, which will enable you to appreciate the powerful features of our approach.
